Created to support the inner lives of those serving others.
The Interfaith Contemplative Center for Spirituality and Healthcare was created to support the inner lives of those serving others. In shared space with Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, where medical and dental care are provided for many in need, the “ICC” nurtures the spiritual and emotional centers from which compassion to serve springs forth. Open to the medical and dental staff, clients of the Clinics, and seekers everywhere, the Contemplative Center teaches and provides the opportunity for ongoing, communal experience of a variety of ancient practices from many faith traditions that nurture interior stillness and growing awareness of the sacred mystery present in every moment. Integrating health and wholeness in body, mind and spirit encourages well-being at a personal level, and by extension into the families, communities and life-world which we share.

Each gathering at the Interfaith Contemplative Center is an opportunity to slow down, listen deeply, and engage in sacred rhythm that restores compassion, peace, and presence.

Timeless Tuesdays
Each Tuesday at 11:30, all are welcome to gather to pray together for the needs of the world, and for each other. In the tradition of anointing with oil and laying on of hands, we invite healing and peace into our own lives and the whole of creation. The service continues with sharing bread and wine as we remember Emmanuel – God with us. Immediately following is a 30-minute Centering Prayer time as we join with those on zoom from around the world praying in silence for compassion, mercy, and truly restorative justice.

Spiritual Companioning
The ancient art of spiritual companioning is the healing work of deep listening. Certificated spiritual companions are available by appointment at the ICC to sit with you, and deeply listen with you for the words and work of the Sacred Spirit within you. Companions do not give advice, and are not counselors or therapists; rather they watch and wait and wonder with you for the invitations, the intimations, and the possibilities of unfolding grace in your life – grace that heals, strengthens, and illumines purpose and meaning. Typically, meetings are held monthly. Spiritual companions are renumerated for the time and training they bring to these moments. Contact Julia at +1 702-268-6414 for more information.

Going Deeper
On the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 9:30am–12:00, an opportunity for a mini-retreat is offered. Each month has a teaching focus on an aspect of the contemplative life. The format engages the practice of Lectio Divina, meaning "divine reading" which is a meditative way of engaging sacred text. Through slow, prayerful reading, reflection, and silence, the words move from the mind to the heart and become a living conversation with the Spirit. Led by Ken Larson and other staff from the Center, this is a beautiful introduction to the contemplative way of seeing and being in our life-world.

Indoor Labyrinth Walk
At the heart of the Contemplative Center is an indoor labyrinth, a single, winding path that leads inward and then back out again. Unlike a maze, it has no dead ends and is designed as a meditative practice that quiets the mind and opens space for reflection, prayer, and insight. The Interfaith Contemplative Center invites you to take part in guided labyrinth walks that move through a gentle three-stage rhythm: releasing distractions on the way in, receiving reflection or inspiration at the center, and carrying what emerges back into daily life. Each walk will provide time for reflection and cultivation of inner peace.

Mandala Making
Creating a mandala is a form of meditation. Within the circle, thoughts, emotions, ideas, and physical sensations are gently organized into a visual whole. Each mandala becomes a reflection of the maker’s inner state in that moment, offering insight into where they are and what they are experiencing.
A space for shared stillness, learning, and connection. Through prayer, study, and gathering, we deepen our awareness of the Sacred together and nurture compassion in daily life.

Book Studies
Small book study groups meet at various times and focus on a range of topics. Check the calendar for upcoming events. See Calendar for upcoming studies.

Centering Prayer
Rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, this experience of silent prayer invites the practitioner to rest in stillness beyond words and thought, opening the heart to deep inner transformation and union with God.

Special Events and Speakers
A special speaker offers a workshop/seminar annually to connect us to the work of healing within and the transformative power of compassion in our world. Our speaker in the Spring of 2026 will be Valerie Kaur, author of Sage Warrior and other publications. Valerie is an American activist, documentary filmmaker, lawyer, educator and faith leader. “Revolutionary love is the call of our times. It is to look upon the face of anyone and say: You are a part of me I do not yet know..."
The following practices invite stillness, balance, and awareness through movement, sound, and silence. Each one nurtures interior calm and awakens the spirit’s natural rhythm of peace. Offerings vary from month to month. Check the calendar for scheduled activities.

Interfaith Taizé
Taizé is a prayer service blending simple chants, silence, and varied spiritual readings to create a shared space of peace across faith traditions. Offered monthly in person with capability of extending to others via zoom.

Singing Bowls
This experience of rest allows sound to encourage deep relaxation and energetic balance through the pure tones of Tibetan and Crystal bowls. The reverberation of their “song” through our bodies restores harmony to body and spirit.

Zen Meditation
This practice of awakening to the present moment opens us to the reality of the connectedness to the eternal in each moment. Many find clarity through sitting, walking and tea meditations. This meditative practice offer stillness, focused breathing and mindful awareness.

Tai Chi and Chi Gong
The guided practice of Tai Chi and Chi Gong opens our bodies and minds to a less restricted flow of energy through slow movements and meditation, balancing inner energy with graceful flow for vitality and serenity. Used in medical practice for thousands of years, this Eastern form of meditation is still central to the healing arts in many cultures and traditions.
